Al Katara Phase IV is the southern part of the Al Katara development with a site area of approximately 17.8 Ha with two of its edges alongside a newly developed artificial beach. The site is at an invigorating confluence of public parks, Active beach edges, Hospitality buildings and High-end Residential neighborhoods. It also offers breath-taking views into the gulf with iconic developments like the culture village and Doha Pearl in the Horizon.
Surrounded by such a vibrant context, the proposed Design aims to create strong links with its surroundings and a unique urban leisure environment that intertwines the different programmatic components into one continuous experiential space.
The Project draws inspiration from Densely packed traditional Islamic cities which use time-tested ‘passive’ techniques to provide self shading and improve wind circulation to combat the harsh desert environment.
The Design emulates these principles and adapts them to a modern context and the proposed program to result in an urban experience that is socially active, culturally relevant and environmentally responsive.
