Kalba Bird of Prey Centre

Sharjah, UAE
2012

One in a series of Visitor Centres that the Sharjah government is keen to develop to protect regional wildlife, the Bird of Prey project is designed to provide an avian breeding facility. The site is located in Kalba, on one of the major avian flyways used by birds and home to various other important animal species. The Visitor Centre is dedicated to the study and welfare of these birds and to educate the public in the importance of protecting them. The architecture is designed in symbiosis with the surrounding topography and natural landscape, creating a space of solace and tranquility for visitors.
