The founders of X Architects speak on Contextual Adaptability

Transformation, Translation, Representation – An Approach to Contextual Adaptability – exhibition was held in collaboration with YADP under the mentorship of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. The exhibition hosted a selection of X Architects’ prime projects that responds to context along with Marina Tabassum’s Bait Ur Rouf Mosque that won her the prestigious award in 2016.

The event hosted a presentation by Marina that was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Kevin Mitchell, acting provost and professor of architecture at the American University of Sharjah. X Architects founder, Farid Esmaeil, discussed the culture of architecture and its context in different parts of the world and Marina Tabassum shared her thoughts on the use of a courtyard as an independent variable.
