Designed for the banks of Wadi Hanifah, the Diriyah Grand Mosque reimagines Riyadh’s spiritual landscape through a 21,690-square-metre complex that balances heritage with contemporary civic life. The design draws deeply from Najdi architectural traditions, utilizing textured lattice facades and a primary volume carved with triangular openings. These geometric elements allow the structure to function as an illuminated monument at night while maintaining a material connection to the mudbrick history of the region.

The project integrates large-scale prayer halls with planted courtyards, accommodating up to 11,400 visitors. By responding to the specific topography of the Wadi and the evolving scale of the Diriyah boulevard, the mosque serves as a site-responsive intervention that honors climatic and spiritual responsibilities for future generations.
