In efforts to support and showcase Emirati and Dubai-based artistic talent, SIKKA, an annual initiative founded by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, organised a series of dialogues and panel discussions.

Ahmed Al-Ali and Farid Esmaeil, X-Architects Principals, participated in a panel discussion titled “Contemporary Art and Architectural Practices in Dubai: Permeating Local Vernacular and Proficiencies Through Art, Architecture and Place”.

The Panel discussion took place in SIKKA on Saturday 24 March 2012. Participants included prominent speakers: Nasreeen Al Tamimi (Tasmena), with Meitha Mazrooei and Reema Al Wahabi (WTD).
